cas 9003-01-4 Poly(acrylic acid) PAA

Polyacrylic acid is used in disposable diapers and in ion exchange resins. It is also used to study solute diffusion in polyvinyl alcohol/polyacrylic acid copolymer hydrogel.
Polyacrylic acid is also employed as a thickening, suspending, emulsifying and dispersing agent in cosmetics, adhesives and paints. Further, it is used for the preparation of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-block-polyacrylic acid copolymer which responds to both temperature and pH stimuli.
In addition to this, it is used in preparing block copolymer of oligo (methyl methacrylate)/PAA for micellar delivery of hydrophobic.

PAA is non-toxic, easily soluble in water, and can operate under alkaline and medium concentration conditions without scaling.
PAA can disperse the microcrystals or sediment of calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate and other salts in water without settling, so as to achieve the purpose of scale inhibition PAA is a commonly used dispersant, in addition to the use of circulating cooling water system as scale inhibition and dispersant, but also widely used in papermaking and textile, printing and dyeing, ceramics, coatings and other industries.
PAA is often formulated with other water treatment agents and used as a scale inhibitor and dispersant in circulating cooling water systems such as power plants, chemical plants, fertilizer plants, oil refineries and air conditioning systems.

Formula and dosage

PAA are determined by the test according to the water quality of the site and the material of the equipment.
PAA is used alone, and the general use concentration is 1~15mg/L.
